✨ A New Rotary Year Begins
July 1st marks the beginning of a new Rotary year and with it comes renewed energy, fresh leadership, and a continued commitment to CREATE LASTING IMPACT. We are excited to welcome John Lind - President of Rotary Club of Chagrin Valley; Terri Speck - District 6630 District Governor; and Olayinka Hakeem Babalola - Rotary International President. We look forward to their leadership as we strengthen our service here in the Chagrin Valley and around the world.
🌟 A Year of Impact: United for Good
This past year, our club truly embodied the Rotary theme United for Good, making meaningful contributions both locally and globally.
We started the year with our annual mini golf tournament, Putts for Peace, which raised funds to support PeaceJam, The Lesotho Connection, and Rotary Youth Exchange programs. As the school year began, we proudly began our recognition of outstanding seniors from Chagrin Falls and Kenston High Schools as Rotary Students of the Month. Several of these student returned to make additional presentations to our club or receive scholarships at the end of the year. As the holidays approached, we again partnered with Mazzulo's Fresh Market & Catering to provide meals for families in need. With the help of fund raising through Charlie's Charity Casino and a District Grant, we doubled our impact - delivering 300 meals throughout the community.
After ringing the bell on behalf of the Salvation Army and surpassing last year's collections, we moved into the new year preparing for the 4-Way Test Speech Contest, and our first Community Gala & Fundraiser. Despite a tornado warning and take shelter order, our Gala celebrating the opening of Honey Hill at the Hive was a tremendous success, raising $30,000.
🎓 Scholarships & Community Support
These funds allowed us to expand our scholarship program, awarding 8 academic and vocational scholarships totaling $23,000. Additionally, we distributed approximately $10,000 to community organizations and initiatives, including:
