Club History
- The Rotary Club of Chagrin Valley, founded in 1941, has a long tradition of bringing together business, professional, civic, educational, and community leaders who share Rotary International’s commitment to “Service Above Self.” Serving Chagrin Falls and surrounding communities, the club has evolved over the years while maintaining a strong focus on fellowship, ethical leadership, and improving the lives of others.
- Throughout its history, the club has supported a wide range of local and international service initiatives. Education and youth have been particularly important priorities. Today, the club provides academic and vocational scholarships to students from Chagrin Falls and Kenston High Schools, recognizes outstanding students, supports youth leadership, and sponsors Interact activities that introduce young people to community service.
- The club has also developed a strong tradition of hands-on community service, supporting families in need, veterans, food assistance programs, community organizations, and other charitable causes throughout the Chagrin Valley. Its membership has historically brought together representatives of local schools, safety forces, government, businesses, and community organizations—all working toward a stronger community.
- Beyond the Chagrin Valley, the club participates in the broader mission of Rotary through humanitarian programs and support for causes such as Gift of Life, international service, and Rotary’s worldwide effort to eradicate polio.
- Today, the Rotary Club of Chagrin Valley continues this tradition by combining service, fellowship, and community leadership. Guided by Rotary’s Four-Way Test and the motto “Service Above Self,” its members work together to make a lasting difference—helping neighbors in the Chagrin Valley while contributing to Rotary’s humanitarian mission around the world.
