GPA: 4.541

Awards:

Throughout my four years at Kenston, I have worked hard to push myself to be the best possible student athlete I could be. I have earned the title of AP Scholar Distinction, with scoring a four or above on all of my eight AP exams thus far. I have also been on the High Honor Roll every quarter since I was a freshman and earned an academic letter. Additionally, I have been awarded eight course awards for my academic performance in my classes. Outside of the classroom, I have been named a WRC Scholar-Athlete seven times, and a Kenston Scholar-Athlete twice. I also have received the Most Improved Award and Lady Bomber Award for my character on and off the court for basketball. Finally, I was one of the chosen members of Bomber Bash Lead Crew, along with nine other students, to receive the Medical Mutual Pillar Award for the Lead Crew’s service to A Kid Again.

Club Membership & Sports:

I am extremely committed to extending my involvement outside of the classroom. I have been a member of both the golf and basketball teams since my freshman year, earning a total of seven varsity letters. I was also awarded WRC Honorable Mention for golf this year. Aside from sports, I stay active in the school through my membership and leadership in Envirothon. I first became a member freshman year, and was elected as Recycling Coordinator the past two years. Recently, through Envirothon ‘s lnstagram account (@KHSEnvirothon) I have begun a personal sustainability campaign where I post weekly tips on how to live a more eco-friendly lifestyle.

School Activities:

I have also extended my involvement in school through various activities. I have been a tutor with Kenston Academy since my freshman year and currently tutor every Thursday morning. I also am a member of the National Honor Society and led the committee of the NHS Carnival last year. I continue my love for science through my membership on the Science Olympiad team. Unfortunately, basketball season and Science Olympiad overlap, so my participation in the latter has been limited. However, I am proud to say this year, I earned a fourth place ribbon at the Mentor Tournament in Green Generation.

Activities Outside of School:

I have done my best to stay involved in my community as well. I worked at Punderson Golf Course my sophomore year. While working there, I noticed the lack of recycling done by the course and collaborated with the manager to establish recycling at the club house and along the course. I also have furthered my dedication to service through volunteering with the charity A Kid Again, which I became involved with thanks to my membership on the Bomber Bash Lead Crew. I have volunteered at several A Kid Again adventures to help chronically ill children experience days of fun away from hospital visits and doctor’s appointments.

College Plans:

I plan to attend Boston University where I will study Biology with a Specialization in Ecology and Conservation. I also plan to minor in Earth and Environmental Sciences and possibly Environmental Remote Sensing and GIS. Then I intend to further my education by obtaining my P.H.D. in Biology.
