Frank Ondus on Dementia
Posted by Bruce Corson
Dale Arvay introduced Frank Ondus, the Vice President of Community Wellness for
Judson and South Franklin Circle. He spoke to us about how appropriate exercise can stave
off the debilitating effects of dementia, particularly of Alzheimer's. It is reported that by 2009 26.6 million
people had been diagnosed with active Alzheimers world-wide. By 2050 that number will
jump to 110 million. "Dementia" defines many types of neuro-plastic conditions but
Alzheimer's remains the most prevalent type of dementia.
